2018 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony & Luncheon

Dear Seacoast United Maine Players & Families,

I'm extremely proud to announce our inaugural Hall of Fame Class for Seacoast United Maine.  We have a long and storied history in the sport of soccer within the State of Maine.  Seacoast United Maine is built upon the foundations provided by 4 incredibly successful and innovative clubs.  Coastal Soccer Club, Blackbear United, Odyssey Sport & Maine Metro FC.  We're pleased to be able to celebrate one of our legendary teams, as well as two of the architects of those clubs, and key contributors to the rise of Maine soccer in general, on June 1st

On behalf of Seacoast United's C.E.O., Paul Willis, and myself - I'd like to formally invite you to the South Portland Marriott @ Sable Oaks to participate in the festivities.  We will be inducting two remarkable people and one phenomenal team:

Doug Biggs:

Founder, Odyssey Sport '97.  Doug's impact is still felt today by the legacy of coaches and players who had the good fortune to experience his sphere of influence.  Doug's coaching experience included Head Coaching gigs at the University of Maine and the University of New England, however his wisdom, development model and guidance with younger players and coaches is still in effect at Seacoast United Maine.  He is one of the founding fathers of soccer in Maine.

Mike Healy:

Former President, Coastal Soccer Club.  In addition to Mike's mythic success with his teams at Coastal, North Yarmouth Academy and Bowdoin College, Coach Healy helped to grow Coastal to over 40 teams and was the architect for full season club play at Coastal.  His direction and foresight helped to position Coastal effectively as soccer changed dramatically in the first decade of the 2000's.

Seacoast United/Coastal Thunder:

Coached by Seth Johnson and Irl Rosner - the Thunder rose to heights previously unseen by teams from Maine.  In addition to collective team accolades culminating in Regional success - multiple players enjoyed opportunities at the collegiate, and professional level.  They are still the measuring stick for all boys teams at Seacoast United Maine.

The luncheon begins at 11:00 AM and will be followed by the induction ceremony for coaches Biggs, Healy and the Thunder team.  Tickets are $25 and are available for purchase here.  Your ticket includes entrance to the event as well as lunch.  As a progressive club with an almost obsessive look to "what's next" - we are extremely pleased to take a deep breath to appreciate and celebrate our history.  We hope you will join us!

Warm Regards,

Steve Twombly
